He was predeceased by: his parents, Welda W. and Ethel DeRousse, Sr.; his siblings, Buelah Hentis (Shorty) and Ardell DeRousse; his brothers-in-law, Johnny Campbell and Robert Gregory; his parents-in-law, Leo and Thelma Romay; and his grandparents-in-law, Daniel and Pearl Brown.

He is survived by: his mother-in-law Carol Romay; his wife Carol DeRousse Red Bud; his children, Taryn Grohmann Waterloo (Chad) and Damon DeRousse Red (Brandi); his sisters, Dorothy Campbell Sparta, Marjorie J. Gregory Evansville and Mary Ferguson Highland (Bruce); his siblings-in-law, Terry Romay Prairie and Denise Falk Red (Jerry); his grandchildren, Bayle DeRousse, Lucas, Zachary, Brooke Grohmann, Lane and Weston Brockmeyer; his nephews, Brandon Eggemeyer (Lindsay), Del Hentis, Ronnie Hentis and Jacob Romay; and his great-niece Braylin Eggemeyer.
