He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Ernst and Leona Harms; his wife Nancy Hanebutt; and his sister-in-law Linda Hanebutt. He is survived by: his children, Cathy Thompson (Mark) and Terry Harms (Susie); his grandchildren, Emily Brennan (Doug), Katie Harms, Brendan Harms, Lily Thompson, Trevor Thompson (Sydney Martillaro) and Ethan Thompson (Tess Hatfield); his great grandchildren, Tillie, Penelope, Phenix, Luna and Wyatt; his brothers, Willis and Clifford Harms Red (Carol); and his siblings-in-law, Roger Hanebutt (Peggy), Joan (Eric), Sue (Paul), Rick (Kathy), Kay (Larry) and Randy (Pam). He is also survived by Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins.
He served on the Red Bud Library Board and the District #132 Charitable Foundation.
