It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Hoodjer of Rapids City, Illinois, born in Eldora, Iowa, who passed away on August 29, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Hoodjer and Gertrude D. Hoodjer (Meyer); his parents-in-law, Elmer and Alice Deike; his brother Leslie Hoodjer; and his brother-in-law Sam White.
He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Deike; his children, Brian Hoodjer (Kari) of Adel, IA and Dana Gibson (Jason) of Rapids City, IL; his grandchildren, Nellie, Sawyer Hoodjer and Oliver Gibson; his siblings, Joyce Badrick (Richard) of Miles, IA, Carol White of Marshalltown, IA, Gary Hoodjer of Wellsburg, IA and Jay Hoodjer (Kristy) of Runnells, IA; and his sister-in-law Arlene Hoodjer of Wellsburg, IA. He is also survived by his other in-laws, nieces and nephews.
