He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William and Doris Gertrude Volkert (Turner). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Evetts of Raleigh; his daughter Sherry Price (Michael) of Rogersville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Haley, Shelly Volkert of New Burnside, Tyler and Luke Volkert of Harrisburg; and his siblings, Christine Hobbs of Elizabethtown, Tony Volkert (Carrie) of Minnesota, Marie Hale of Norris City, Debbie Clay (Chris) of Raleigh and Dewayne "Glenn" Volkert of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Cowsert Cemetery and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
