He is survived by: his wife Alice Marie Beckman; his children, Gregory Rakers (Karen) of Millstadt, IL, Anne Meyer (Jeff) and Sharon Jones (Scott) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Kendra Hartmann (Bennett) of Iowa, Kole Rakers (Sam) of Wisconsin, Kaleb Rakers of Millstadt, Makenzie Holtmeyer (Brad), Breanne, Jordan, Keiley, Grace Meyer of Quincy, Logan Jones of Quincy and Devin Jones of Colorado; his great grandchildren, Meredith, Charlotte, Lincoln, Madelyn Holtmeyer, Addison Hartmann and Thomas Altheide; and his siblings, Paul Rakers (Anita), Jim Rakers (Pat) and Mary Humphrey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home (823 Broadway St, Quincy, IL 62301). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (2223 St Anthony Rd, Quincy, IL 62305).
Memorials may be made to St Anthony Church, St. Dominic School or Quincy Notre Dame High School.
