He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth L. Schieferdecker and Emma F. Tyler Schieferdecker; his brothers, Gary and Larry Schieferdecker; his parents-in-law, Milton C. and Darlene Rhea Reckers; and his siblings-in-law, Dale Reckers and Diann Schieferdecker.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Reckers; his children, Tim Schieferdecker (Jennifer Winking) of Quincy and Kelly Beckman (Aaron) of Quincy; his grandsons, Wade Schieferdecker (Suzi) of Troy, IL and Jack Schieferdecker of Eldridge, IA; his brother Terry Schieferdecker of Quincy; and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Schieferdecker of Payson, IL and Marcia Schieferdecker of Ursa, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
