He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Maas and Coletta Wellman Maas; his wife Shirley G. Alger; and his siblings, Virgil Maas, Clarence Maas, Clara Neisen, Rose Mary Benz, Raymond Maas, Melvin Maas, Loretta Klauser and JoAnn "Annie" Dryer.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Maas (Sharon) of Quincy, Randy Maas (Laura) of Liberty, IL, Becky Warning (Kevin) of Quincy, Nancy Cromie (Jim) of Liberty, IL and Cathy Zanger (John) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Nicole O'Banion (Matt) of Quincy, Matt Maas (Lisa) of Quincy, Stephanie Maas of Quincy, Bethany Maas (Tyler Brinkman) of Quincy, Taylor Gawedzinski (Zach) of Troy, MO, Mason Warning (Madeline) of Quincy, Sara Warning of Quincy, Daniel Cromie (Brittany) of Payson, Jesse Cromie of Quincy, Erin Cromie of Quincy, Ty Cromie of Clayton, IL, Courtney Howard (Andrew) of Charlotte, NC, Emily Johnson (Casey) of Liberty, IL, Samantha Zanger of Quincy, Julie Zanger (Aden Trautvetter) of Mendon, IL and Sean Zanger of Quincy; and his siblings, Florence Smith, Lucille "Fritzi" Nieders, Robert Maas (Connie), Barb Hilgenbrink, Tom Maas (Julie) and Elmer Maas (Jeannie). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
