He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Halpin and Effie Halpin (Howard); his wife Irene C. LaPoint; and his siblings, Rozella VanNess, LaDonna Jacobs, Mary Buckley, Robert Halpin and Duane Halpin.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Stephen E. Halpin (Joni) of Hannibal, Kevin M. Halpin (Candace) of Maryland Heights and Craig A. Halpin (Julie) of O'Fallon; and his grandchildren, Brandon Halpin (Cody), Jared Halpin (Kelsee), Jennifer Parks (Sean), Connor Halpin (Lauren), Cullen Halpin (Lauren), Carley Halpin, Kristina Hicks (Adam) and Nicole McAllister (Kevin). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the American Legion, RSVP Advisory Council, and a volunteer with the American Red Cross for many years.
