He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dappen and Grace Dappen (Dehner). He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Dappen of Lake Thunderbird; his children, Michael Dappen (Heidi) of Peru, IL., Scott Dappen (Becky) of Normal, IL. and Melissa Dappen of Chicago, IL; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sophia and Ben Dappen.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or ARK in Lacon, IL.
