He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Cherry and Josephine Madison-Hickman; his sister Mary Ealey; his son George Cherry; and his brothers, Eugene Meeks, Nathaniel Hollis, Alfred Cherry and Otis Cherry.
He is survived by: his siblings, Willie Hickman (Charlene) of Ullin, Alphonso Cherry (Maria), Joyce Algee of Clarksville, Lorene Beverly of Colp and Alene Reed (Albert); his daughters, Katina Reed (Dave) of Mounds, IL, Lashasta and Kimmie Moreland of St. Paul; his adoptive daughter Cerita Moreland; his sons, Jerry Cherry and Roalnd Odell Cherry of Rock Island; and his close friends, Keith and Donnie. He is also survived by eight grandsons, at least one or two granddaughters and a host nieces, nephews.
