He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Shaner and Maxine Shaner (Andersen); his sister Patricia Hodson; and his grandchildren, Jesse Shere, Kelly Day and Carolyn Bender.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia DeClercq; and his children, Linda Day (Skip) of West Chicago, IL, SuAnne Swanson of Tampico, IL, Mark Shaner (Pam) of Prophetstown, IL, Clay Shaner (Pam) of Prophetstown, IL, Timothy Shaner (Tammy) of Lyndon, IL and Michael Shaner (Debbie Bartz) of Cherry Valley, IL. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Prophetstown EMS.
