He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kuehl and Luella Kuehl (Burch); his brothers, Robert Kuehl (Betty), Kenneth Kuehl (Jenny) and Raymond Kuehl (Peggy); and his sister-in-law Darlene Kuehl.
He is survived by: his close friend Harvey Ottens; his wife Karen A. Boucher; his children, Laurie Jo Taylor (Gary) of Morrison, IL, Lynn Renee Akker (Steve) of Mt. Morris, IL, Shari Lynn Hanz of Erie, IL and Timothy Arlen Kuehl (Mari) of Grayslake, IL; his grandchildren, Jason Klotz (Brittney), Brandon Thomas Klotz, Jason Akker (Katie), Andrew Akker (Martha), Justin Hanz, Megan Shari Hanz, Jenna Bennett (James), Melissa Redfern (Chris) and Shaun Kuehl (Stephanie); his stepgrandchildren, Jason Taylor (Cathy), Zachary Taylor (Kristie), Carli Ward (Matt) and McKenzie Askew (Jacob); and his brother William "Billy" H. Kuehl Jr.. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren.
