It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Howard W. Scott of Prophetstown, Illinois, born in New Bedford, Illinois, who passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Howard shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Howard farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Scott and Marjorie Scott (Pierce). He is survived by: his children, Gwen Scott-Gilbert (Martin) of Le Claire, IA, Greg Scott (Pam) of Prophetstown and Christopher Scott (Sara) of Phoenix, AZ; his brother David Scott of Prophetstown; and his grandchildren, Gary, Nikki and Lindsay. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Whiteside County Fair Board.
