He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Klobus and Marguerite Alice Howlett (Morse); his wife Illene; and his siblings, Justine Swanson, Alverda Ploeckelman and John Howlett.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Riggen (Scott) of Oregon City, OR and David Howlett (Shannon) of Bennington, VT; his granddaughters, Morgan Illene Howlett (Ben Isenhart) of Portland, ME and Kira Ann Riggen of Oregon City, OR; his stepgrandchildren, Jason Riggen (Kate) of Wilsonville, OR and Lavender Riggen of Los Angeles, CA; his great grandchildren, Kali and Vincent Wood; and also, Scott, Andrea Aman and Deb Robinson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to the First Lutheran Church.
