He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean E. Shipley and Mabel Shipley (Howell); his son Michael; his grandson Craig; and his siblings, Robert, Ralph, John and Mildred.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Shipley (Robyn), Richard Shipley (Alice) and Rebecca Murphy (Robert) of Princeville; his grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Tiffany, Danielle, Kristina, Sean, Caitlin, Brianna "Peanut" and Doug; and his sister Della Smith (Bob) of Loveland, CO.. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Akron-Princeville Fire Protection District, Princeville United Methodist Church or the Princeville Masonic Lodge #360 AF & AM.
