Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Spurgeon and Lois O. Spurgeon (Wilcox). He is survived by: his children, Terry Spurgeon (Christina) of Princeville and Michelle Heeren (Jerry) of Peoria; his grandchildren, Rebecca Ford (Nate) of Glasford, Andrew Spurgeon (Sammy) of Princeville and Sebastian Heeren; and his sisters, Vickie Wahlbrink (Bob) of Athens, IL and Julie Janssen (Doug) of Fort Myers, FL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services - Princeville (304 N Walnut Ave, Princeville, IL 61559). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial donations be given to the Akron-Princeville Fire Protection District or to the Akron-Princeville Ambulance Service.
