He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Elwell and Alma Elwell (Kremp); his wife Barbara Dismeier; and his brother James Elwell. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Tim Elwell (Carol Ann), Andrew Elwell (Susan), Diane Smith (Tad), Scott Dismeier (Geraldine), Laurel Langholz (Paul) and Lisa Wolter (Mark); his grandchildren, Justin Smith, Ethan Smith (Lauren), Aubrey Hicks (Zach), Audrey Elwell, Walter Alexander Elwell II, Katherine Elwell, Dana Klen (Eric), Erin Ochnikowski (Josh), Rachel Langholz, Sarah Dobbins (Kyle), Nathan Langholz (Kennedy), Jason Wolter and Brendan Wolter; and his sister Patricia Elwell (Richard Mason). He is also survived by 8 great- grandchildren.
