He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Owens and Lorraine Owens (Alshouse); his brother William Owens; and his nephew Shawn Owens. He is survived by: his former wife Paula Kagay; his wife Dina Owens; his sons, Jason Owens (Melissa) of Norfolk, VA and Samuel Owens (Jennifer) of Peru, IL; his sister Deborah Harris (Brian); and his niece Janelle Pertell (Rick).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
