He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Peterson and Beulah Peterson (Hildebrand); his wife Patricia Peterson; and his brother Leo Peterson. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie DeMay (Jeffrey) of Geneseo, IL, Stephen Peterson (Amy) of Princeton, IL and Amanda Varland (Mark) of Marseilles, IL; his grandchildren, Brandon Cartwright (Amelia), Chase Cartwright (Sarah), Allison Peterson (Cody Dillin), Erin Krafft (Christian), Andrew Varland, Rebekah Varland, Kathryn Varland and Matthew Varland; and his great grandchildren, Jayden Anderson, Jordyn Anderson, Andrew Krafft and Axel Cartwright.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
