He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling Phillips and Bess Marcella Phillips (Taylor); his grandson James S. Phillips, II; and his grandmother Maude Taylor (Sheets). He is survived by: his wife Christine Cikanek of Princeton; his sons, James S. Phillips of Lake Geneva, WI and Jeffrey P. Phillips (Kari); his grandchildren, Jonathan, Jayson, Jeremy, Amanda, Alison, Eliot and Emily; and his great grandchildren, Kora, Scarlet, Grayson and Finnegan.
