He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ellner and Grace Ellner; his grandson Travis Jones; his sister Betty Niehaus (Ivan); his brother-in-law Donald "Chub" Heizer; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Irene Cowell of Funeral Mass.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Ellner Prairie; his children, Tina Jones Prairie (Todd), Joe "Herb" Ellner (Mindy Jones) and Randy "Slim" Ellner Prairie (Jo); his grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Treyton Jones, Bayle DeRousse, Kadie Baston (J. R.), Brandi Curten (Jacob), Kassidy Ellner and Molly Ellner; his great grandchildren, Macy and Mason Curten; and his siblings, Marie Heizer Prairie, Donnie Ellner Prairie (Mary Jean), Pearl (Mel) and David Ellner Prairie (Debbie). He is also survived by Many Sisters-in-law, Brothers-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Pechacek Funeral Homes (1340 W Market St, Red Bud, IL 62278). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (802 Middle St, Prairie Du Rocher, IL 62277).
