He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E. Butler and Ada E. Butler (Rauch); his daughter Jolyn Gordon; and his siblings, Leola Simmons, Nancy Sandidge and Ralph Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Loy; his children, Dawn Huston (Howard) of East Moline, Lisa Ditsworth (Chris) of Moline, Jamie Mathis (Bo) of Port Byron, Hannah Butler of Port Byron, Jason Gordon of East Moline and Robyn Martin (Justin) of Moline; and his siblings, Sharon Bradt of East Moline and Wayne Butler of California. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gibson - Bode Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. - Port Byron (202 N Main St, Port Byron, IL 61275). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (17628 Hubbard Rd, East Moline, IL 61244). A burial was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery (17628 Hubbard Rd, East Moline, IL 61244).
