He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E. Butler and Ada E. Butler (Rauch); his daughter Jolyn Gordon; and his siblings, Leola Simmons, Nancy Sandidge and Ralph Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Loy; his children, Dawn Huston (Howard) of East Moline, Lisa Ditsworth (Chris) of Moline, Jamie Mathis (Bo) of Port Byron, Hannah Butler of Port Byron, Jason Gordon of East Moline and Robyn Martin (Justin) of Moline; and his siblings, Sharon Bradt of East Moline and Wayne Butler of California. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
