He was predeceased by: his parents, James Balk and Lee Ann Balk (Vogt); and his parents-in-law, Charles Althoff and Geraldine Althoff. He is survived by: his wife Theresa Balk; his children, Matthew Balk (Morgan), Rachel Balk and Abigail Balk; his grandson Forrest Balk; his siblings, Steve Balk (Rhonda), Kevin Balk (Jackie), Terry Balk (Jenny), Brian Balk (Jean) and Wendy Melver (David); his brothers-in-law, Steve Althoff and Mike Althoff (Kathy); and his pets, Wrigley, Rizzo, Boots, Ellie, Hazelnut, Ember and Greta. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services (218 W Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
