It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sharon L. Long of Pontiac, Illinois, born in Streator, Illinois, who passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harlow Iverson and Nona Iverson (Williams); her children, John Joseph Jones, Brenda Lee Jones and Robin Metz; and her siblings, Florence Majesky, Donna Brackney, Beverly Modglin, Kenneth Iverson, Laverne Iverson and Howard Iverson.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Zimmer (Dave) of Pontiac, IL, Donna Landers of Texas and Robert Jones (Terri) of Ohio; and her siblings, Betty Riffey of Pontiac, IL, Marian Rudolph of Pontiac, IL, Fred Iverson (Lena) of Fairfield and Gene Iverson (Shirley) of Streator, IL.. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Pontiac War Museum.
