He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Ronald Groskreutz, Louis and Maryann Mays. He is survived by: his parents, Greg Mays and Rhonda Mays of Pontiac; his wife Emily Roberts of Pontiac; his sons, Cyrus and Pierce Mays; his siblings, Erica Malaga (Ramon) of Bloomington, Erin Mays (Raymond Bohm) of Flanagan, Andrew Mays (Shayla Doyle) of Pontiac and Peyton Mays (Rachel Stork); his grandmother Nancy Groskreutz; and his aunts and uncles, Nanette Groskreutz, Ronald Groskreutz (Christy), Lori Rodgers (Keith), Gary Mays (Jackie) and Bill Mays (Candy Gant). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for his sons.
