She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lola Underwood and Melvin Underwood; her husband Donald Shane; her children, Barb McDowell of Tremont, IL, Don Shane (Teri) of Williamsfield, IL and Pattie Homann (Ron) of Bloomington, IL; her grandchildren, Shanna Miller of Tremont, IL, Zach McDowell (Kristina) of Seffner, FL, Kenn Shane (Yen) of Irvine, CA, Stephanie Ogle (Matt) of Charleston, IL, Courtni Hays (Justin) of Paris, IL, Jacob Homann of Des Plaines, IL and Lucas Homann of Chicago, IL; her son-in-law Ed McDowell; and her granddaughter Sarah Lampe. She was also cherished by 13 great-grandchildren.
