He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde Sweitzer and Caroline Sweitzer (Eppel); his wife Connie Fortna; his children, Eric Sweitzer of Bloomington, IL, LeeAnn Rolf of Rosemont, MN, Gwen Ford (John) of Pensacola, FL and Beth Waters (Dean) of Janesville, WI; and his grandchildren, Deric Sweitzer, Ryan Sweitzer, Tyler Sweitzer, Hannah Sweitzer, Alexandra Rolf, Brittany Cruz and Brandon Waters. He was also cherished by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
