He was predeceased by: his son Steven Barnard. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Barnard (Utterback Holzhauer); his daughter Teresa Dunning (Cory) of Pontiac, IL; and his stepson Jason Holzhauer (Jackie) of Pontiac, IL. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Transitions Hospice or the Ronald McDonald House.
