She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Carey and Ida Carey (Looney); and her brothers, James Richard "Dick" Carey and Stephen Carey. She is survived by: her former husband Gerald M. DeFrees; her children, Lori Opiela (Larry) of Joliet, IL and Tim DeFrees (Kay) of Hudson, IL; her grandsons, Jonathan Opiela, Hunter DeFrees and Dylan DeFrees; and her sister Debra DeLoose (Michael) of Springfield, VA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
