She was predeceased by: her parents, Melquiades Briones and Gertrudis Briones; her sons, Jose Luis Piña, Jr. and Pilar Piña; her sisters, Socorro Briones (Muñeca) and Ana Garcia; her father-in-law Antonio Piña; and her great grandchild Javier Cortez Evans.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Luis Piña, Sr. (Mexico); her children, Joe Piña (Melissa) of Pontiac, Nancy Cortez (Alfredo) of Pontiac, Eduardo "Eddie" Piña of Pontiac and Esmeralda Piña of Pontiac; and her mother-in-law Pilar Piña of Pharr. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 6 sisters, 2 brothers.
Donations can be made in her memory to St. Mary's School, Pontiac or the American Cancer Society.
