He was predeceased by: his parents, Everette Hurd and Elizabeth Hurd (Bessie); his son Brett; and his siblings, Elwood, Roy, Lucille, Evelyn and Ruth.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Ellen Ferrari; his sons, Alvis Hurd of Jonesborough, TN and Jay Hurd (Lisa) of Minonk, IL; his sisters, Mildred McCoy of Blackwater, VA and Naomi Seals (Emory) of Morristown, TN; his grandchildren, Clint Hurd (Sondra), Chayla Mitchey (Erik), Jessie Hurd (Kyle), Mikayla Bean (Kyle), Wesley Hurd, Tyler Stewart (Claire), Mason Hurd, Micah Hurd and Aiden Hurd; and his great grandchildren, Emily Hurd, Hadleih Mitchey and Olivia Hurd.
