He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Wampler and Florence Mae Wampler (Laurie); his former spouse Dee Simpson; his son Donald; and his siblings, Lorene Banks, Merlin Wampler, Irene Olesen, Lawrence Wampler, Wilma Leonard, Frances "Tank" Wampler and Robert Wampler.

He is survived by: his wife Carol; his son Bob Wampler (Sandy) of Streator, IL; his grandsons, Justin Wampler (Kristin) of Knoxville, TN, Christopher Wampler, Cory Wampler, Caleb Wampler (Susan) and Jeffrey Wampler; his great grandchildren, Alissa and Jasmine Wampler; his daughter-in-law Carole Foreman of Sheridan, IL; his brother-in-law Wayne Simpson (Roni) of Bentonville, AR.; and his stepchildren, Bill Sass (Sue) of Normal, IL, Steve Sass (Xia) and Mary Loudon (Darrel). He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
