She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lawson and Lina Lawson (Nease); her husband Eldon Akers; and her pets, Buster, Emmy, Dakota and Joe.
She is survived by: her siblings, Barbara Byrne of Pontiac and James Lawson (Shelia) of Milton, KY; and her nieces and nephews, Erin Byrne of Pontiac, Tonja Smither, Misty Dineen, Ashley Lawson, Erik Tatum (Jennifer) of Franklin, NC, Samuel Lawson of Columbus, IN and Orrin Mynes of Franklin, NC..
