He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Legner and Bertha I. Legner (Forsythe); his wife Barbara; his stepchildren, Beth Hogan and Kevin Skonetski; his siblings, Merlin "Bud" Legner, Donald Legner, John "Jack" Legner, Irene Thompson and Genevieve Van Dyck; and his stepgranddaughter Courtney Hogan.
He is survived by: his stepsons, Bill Skonetski (Donna) of Blackstone, IL and Mark Skonetski (Jodi) of Chenoa, IL; his stepson-in-law Tom Hogan; his stepgrandchildren, Dawn Cox (Mike), Shelli Sargeant (Jeremy), Kurt Hogan, Erin Skonetski, Kacie Hogan, Emily Franklin (Derek), Sarah Skonetski, Brittani Decker and Tasha Decker; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kali, Brody Hoegger, Ramme Sargeant, Michael, Gabriel Cox, Harrison, Candi Franklin, Taylor, Ellie Merlino, Nollie Hogan and Tyler Bippus.
