He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gavin and Mary Gavin (Grady); and his brothers, Bill Gavin and Joseph. He is survived by: his fiancée Brenda Camling; his children, Mindy Barksdale (Lamonia) of Peoria, IL, Mary Gavin of Peoria, IL and Tony Gavin (Beth) of Rochester, IL; his sister Linda Doyle (Dan) of Monmouth, IL; his grandchildren, Elijah, Olivia Barksdale, Logan Gavin, Madi Franklin, Brooks and Grady Gavin; his cousins, Amy Wolber (Brent), Nathan Camling (Joni) and Mary Cimino; his grandchildren, Jessica Camling, Dustin Logan (Dezi), Brook Logan, Ashley Camling, Tyler Camling, Amanda Camling and Sarah Wolber; and his great grandchild Kopelyn Logan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in either his name or the Polo Community School District.
