With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas E. Smith of Polo, Illinois, born in Winthrop, Iowa, who passed away on May 5, 2021 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gene Smith and Margaret Smith; his wife Grace Buegel; his daughter Amy Smith of Chicago; his brother Frank Smith (Audrey); and his grandchildren, Jenna (Blake), Heather, Abby (Brandon), Margaret and Kalen Smith.
Due to covid restrictions a private family service will be held with burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Polo.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary Church in Polo or the Polo Area Senior Center.
