He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lewis and Mary Lewis (Cheeseman); his daughter Michelle; and his siblings, Robert and Nancy Hopkins (Richard).

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Twidwell (Cavett); his children, William G. Lewis, Brian Lewis of Quincy, Illinois and Kelly Twidwell; his siblings, Lee Lewis (Jeanie) of Florida and Mary Francis Woods (Rick); and his grandchildren, Samantha Lightle (Tyrell), Jessica Steinkruger, Clinton Lewis, Abigail Lewis, Kolten Lewis, Lucas Lewis and Quinten Twidwell. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
