She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Evans and Luella Jones Evans; her husband Robert Shappell; her son Robert L. Shappell; and her half-siblings, Arthur, Billy Murfin, Beverly Mize and Nadine Hess.

She is survived by: her son Ronald Shappell (Sheri) of Plymouth, IL; her grandson Chris Shappell (Teresa) of Carthage, IL; her great grandchild Jared Shappell of Eureka, MO; and her half-sister Nancy O'Neil of Grand Junction, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
