He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer H. Helling and Mildred E. Helling (Laubinger); his wife Darlene J. Gualandi; his daughter Cindy Clapper (Lonnie); his sisters, Vivian Cook (LaVerne) and Ethel Wilhelm (George); his brother-in-law Dean Foster; and his grandson-in-law Daniel Plowman.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Murley (Terry) of Sandwich, IL, James Helling (Violet) of Sheridan, IL and Frederick Helling of Plano, IL; and his sisters, Nancy Foster of Earlville, IL, Josephine Bolender (Larry) of Holland, MI and Betty Tredway (Avery) of Ava, MO. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
