We are sad to announce that on April 20, 2021, at the age of 22, Dallas Merritt Colburn III of Plano, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Dallas, Grace Colburn, John and Mary Ann Roorda; and his uncles, Stephen Boros and John Roorda (Sandra).

He is survived by: his parents, Dallas Colburn and Tammy Colburn (Roorda); and his aunt Renee Boros (Stephen).

Donations may be made to the Colburn family Go Fund Me site set up to help cover expenses https://gofund.me or the memorial scholarship Judson has created in the two students' names.

“I was always so impressed with Dallas. He had a smile for everyone, was polite and considerate and always willing to talk to an old lady (me). He was a fantastic artist and very talented. I have seen the letters DC several times already and forever will think of him. Having two daughters the same age I cannot imagine the pain you and Dell are experiencing. My heart breaks for you and I wish I could be there. ❤️”

“In loving memory of Dallas Merritt Colburn III, I met DC before he even went to school. Northern suburbs around 3 yrs old or so. His birthday is 2 weeks prior to my daughter's. Always very inquisitive and polite from the get go. He bloomed in college for sure. Our ladies' coffee group was formed and centered around our kids for 12 years. DC will forever be in our hearts. I will "see" him at gardens, at playgrounds - but never at a football game 😀. Love forever”
