It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wallace Raymond Simmons (Plainfield, Illinois), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on May 20, 2018, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Simmons; his parents, June Putman Simmons Merritt and Walter Raymond Simmons; his stepfather Elvis "Jack" Merritt; his siblings, Paul Herbert Simmons and Carol Sue Hazelwood; and his stepbrother Jack Merritt.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Ann, Kutz Simmons of Hixson, TN and Wallace Randolph "Randy" Simmons (Nancy) of Newburgh, IN; and his grandchildren, Jacob Aaron Simmons and Elizabeth Demaree (Dennis). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
