It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rudolph Smolich of Plainfield, Illinois, born in Crest Hill, Illinois, who passed away on December 17, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Smolich and Catherine Smolich (Spelich); his siblings, Jennie, Mary, Anton, Anna, Katherine, Frank, Joseph, Margaret, Edward, Louis and Frances; his parents-in-law, Charles and Julie Murray; and his brothers-in-law, Ralph Murray and Charles Murray Jr. A.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Smolich (Murray); his children, Kevin Smolich (Glenn Boettger) and Kelly Koster (Douglas); his grandchildren, Kyle Koster (Bailey), Kelsey Koster, Kara Koster and Christopher Boettger-Smolich; his great grandchildren, Vera and Lettie Koster; his nieces, Dolly Rambow, Lois Pirc and Lorraine; his nephew Chuck Balstrode; his sisters-in-law, Jean Eberhart and Michelle Murray; and his cousins, Dolly and Bill Hicks.
Memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Rudy's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
