He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement L. McDaniel and Dorothy Bunn McDaniel; his stepparents, Lucille Olson McDaniel and Fred Oppenlander; and his brother-in-law Phillip Maerk.
He is survived by: his wife Jane M. McDaniel; his children, Jenny McDaniel (Diane Stephenson) and Patrick McDaniel; his grandchildren, Cole McDaniel (Whitney Adams), Skyler McDaniel (Justin Foster), Wyatt McDaniel and Hannah McDaniel; his siblings, Ronald McDaniel, Roger McDaniel (late Janet), Fritz Oppenlander (Laurie), Ed Oppenlander (Lisa) and Gretchen Oppenlander; his brother-in-law Richard Maerk; and his pets, Lucy, Frank, Oliver and Stanley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
