He was predeceased by: his aunt Donna Valskis; and his uncles, Roy Godinez and Roland Barrera. He is survived by: his parents, Karen Kus of Plainfield, IL and Rene Barrera of Nebraska; his brothers, Zach Barrera of Malta, IL and Ethan Barrera of Plainfield, IL; and his grandparents, Richard, Barbara Kus, Jose Barrera (Maria) and Rose Sanchez. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
As a kid, Luke was a kindhearted, high-energy boy who always had spare change for the Ronald McDonald House donation box.
