We bid farewell to Lillian Mary Petrick of Plainfield, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 18, 2025 at the age of 94. Lillian Mary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Stephen and Mary Gromos (Ivan); her husband Michael Petrick; her children, Michele Mary Newland (Jeffrey) and Michael John Petrick (Leslie Anderson); and her grandchildren, Michael Anderson Petrick (Hannah) and Pamela Petrick.

She is survived by: her brother John Edward Gromos (Rose); her nieces and nephews, Jeff Gromos (Tsugumi), John Gromos (Betsy), Juli DeCraene (Bob), Jodi Hartman (Brian), Mary Ann Hartmann (Martin), Patricia Favret (William), Andrea Knesek (Gerald), Gary Weber (Pam) and Karen Reilly (John); and her sister-in-law Anne Weber (John).

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Apostles Catholic Church (18 Woodlawn Ave, Joliet, IL 60435).

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center Anaplastic Cancer Research Division at http://www.mdanderson.org would be greatly appreciated.

Lil was beautiful inside and out, calm and focused on how she might be of service to others. Her service to the less fortunate is legendary in the Joliet area and beyond. From the time she and Colleen met they knew they were to be lifelong friends. Mike and Howie got involved and they shared decades of outings, laughter, supporting each other in Family, Faith, Friendship.”
