He was predeceased by: his mother Catalina Valdez; and his sister Zoraida Valdez. He is survived by: his wife Catalina "Cathy" Valdez; his children, Serena Valdez (Angel Diaz), Elias Valdez (Marissa Thornburg) and Joshua Valdez; his grandchildren, Romeo and Kehlani Valdez; and his brothers, Edwin Valdez and Hector Valdez, Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
