He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George W. Fariss, Jr. and Frances Fariss (Ausmus); his son George; his wife Edie Fariss; his children, Dave Fariss (Becky) of Plainfield, Illinois, Dan Fariss (Rhonda) of Dayton, Ohio, Jennifer Pieper (Loren) of Las Cruces, NM and Jacqui Fariss of Las Cruces; and his grandchildren, Madeline, Alivia, Emily Claire, Justin, Joshua, Bradley Pieper and Roxanne Garcia.
