He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis W. "Frank", Sr. and Mary Thiel; his mother-in-law Arline Duda; and his brother-in-law Christopher Duda. He is survived by: his spouse Wendee J. Thiel; his children, Joshua Thiel (Sarah), Adam Thiel (Brandy), Misty Thiel, Ashlee Nolan and Katee Nolan (Jermaine Thomas); his grandchildren, Rylee, Brooklyn, Mackenzie and Damon; his siblings, Joe Roman (Donna), Geri Palmer (John) and Mary Marshall (Steve); his father-in-law Richard, Sr.; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Duda (Barbara), Lonnie Duda (Bob), Ronnie Duda (Candice) and Angela Duda-Stork.
