With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dennis L. Fink of Plainfield, Illinois, born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, who passed away on October 1, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Emde and Reinhardt Henry Fink; his sibling-in-law Bobbie Carlson; and his wife Patsy A. Fink. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Kap (Mike) of Lockport, IL and Greg Fink (Beth) of Geneva, IL.; his grandchildren, Logan Kap (Nicole Carcerano), Auston Kap, Shea, Nolan and Reagan Fink; his sister Joyce Haupt; his nieces and nephews, Mark, Kamala, Grant, Scott, Clint, Clay, Irene, Tommy, Robbie, Kara and Kayla; and his siblings-in-law, Susie Haddock (Tom), Krys Combs (Rob) and Donna Underwood (Clint).

In lieu of flowers donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated.

“Dear Melissa and family - I am greatly saddened to hear of your loss. I attended HF 1972-1976, and Dennis was my favorite teacher. I babysat for you (Melissa - you probably don't remember, but one evening had the two of us jumping on your couch). Dennis and I reconnected years later, and he took an interest in my daughter Kate's historical fiction/fantasy writing. He read her stories and sent her comments and a copy of his book. We have lost two irreplaceable wonderful people. Mary Samuels”
