He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Rutherford and Fern Rutherford; his brothers, Kenneth (Barb) and Jack Rutherford (Audrey); and his son-in-law Thomas Spalo.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Rutherford (Maria), Richard Rutherford (Traci), Kimberly Walsh (Rick), Carol Spalo (late Thomas), Christine Arndt and Brian Rutherford (Dianne); his friend Jan Boldrey; his grandchildren, Mary Storts (Kiki Ssennyamantono), Amanda Walsh (Loren), Breanna Barosso (Nick), Alexander Arndt, Sydney and Noah Rutherford; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; his sister.
